This Week at Darrtown

4.10.2026
This Sunday is the Second Sunday of Easter. This passage describes Jesus’ appearance to his disciples after his resurrection. On the evening of the first day of the week, Jesus appears to the disciples behind locked doors, greeting them with peace and showing them his wounds. He commissions them to continue his work and breathes the Holy Spirit upon them. Thomas, who was not present, initially doubts the resurrection, but later believes after seeing and touching Jesus. Jesus blesses those who believe without seeing. The passage concludes by explaining that these events are recorded so that readers may believe Jesus is the Messiah and have life in his name. My message title is “No Doubt.”
What a beautiful day it was yesterday. I pray you were able to get outside and enjoy some of this sunshine and warmer temperature. I would like to begin with just a huge, huge thank you to all of you that made this an incredible Easter. It was wonderful to see us gather not only Holy Week, but especially Easter morning and celebrate the risen Christ. As I shared Sunday and during Holy Week, my prayer is that the Easter blessings will continue each day as we journey with the Risen Christ. This allows us to be a blessing to others in all circumstances as we move forward. Sunday night, my family made it safely home from Naples, Italy. Thank you for the prayers as we lifted them as they were having some difficulties with cancelled flights and delays. Everything worked out, they had a wonderful trip that I know for them it will be an Easter to remember. We also had an Easter to remember. How wonderful it was to see so many friends and families join us for a special day. I challenge us to reach out to those who might no longer be part of our church on a weekly basis but most certainly are part of our history and invite them to join us in our upcoming Sunday celebrations. Their presence at Easter reminded me of the deep roots and lasting connections that have shaped our community over the years. Your invitation could make a meaningful difference. If you know someone who may appreciate an invitation, please take a moment to call, send a note, or reach out in person. This is an opportunity to share our joy and gratitude, and to welcome others to our church “home”. See you Sunday!

The Celebration of Life for Sally Fritsch is planned for tomorrow Saturday, April 11, @ 2pm here at Darrtown United Methodist. Please keep her family in your prayers. She was a friend to many.

We will be receiving new members on April 19 during the morning worship. If you are interested in joining Darrtown UMC, please see me for more information.
